Conference Sessions

All Sessions will be run at the Cracow University of Technology : historical Campus (former Habsburg military garrison, about 5-minute walk to the Old Town – 24 Warszawska St.).


The 3 hotels are provisionally booked for the REM-Mechatronics participants (3-5 minute walk distance from conference rooms).

Travel information

Cracow is located 300 km south of Warsaw and has very good air, train and road connections.

By air:
Cracow has direct air connections with: Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Milan, Torino, Newcastle, Stockholm, Cologne/Bonn, Dortmund, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Munich, London, Paris, Oslo, Prague, Rome, Vienna and Budapest.
The airport Balice is located just 15 km from the city center.

How to get to the city center:

By car:
The A4 motorway, via Wroclaw and Katowice, leads to Krakow from Western Europe.
Three traffic restriction zones are obligatory in the Old Town. There are secure 24-hr car parks in the center. Hotel Novotel Centrum, Ibis Centrum and Cracovia are located outside traffic zones.

By train:
Main train station (Dworzec Glowny PKP) is located in the very center of the city. There is a good train connection between Warszawa and Cracow (express trains goes every hour during day). More information on:


The Polish currency unit is zloty (PLN), divided into 100 groszy.

Current exchange rate on:
Most foreign currencies can be easily exchange either in banks or in private exchange offices (kantor). Foreign currency (cash) is not acceptable in shops.

The common opening hours are 10.00 – 18.00 Monday to Friday.
On Saturdays shops are closed at 14:00 and are closed on Sundays.
Payment in shops: by cash (only Polish money) or credit cards.

Banks are open Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00 and are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Credit cards accepted in Poland: Visa, EuroCard, MasterCard, American Express.
Cash withdrawal machines, restaurants, car rental agencies and most shops accept all major credit cards.
